LA RUE, Ohio (21Alive) – Flooding has forced a retirement village and several homeowners to evacuate in La Rue, Ohio.

The fire department expects water levels to rise throughout most of Sunday. Authorities say six to eight people had to be rescued, some by raft, and others left their homes on their own and waded through water.

Fire crews went door to door in flooded areas, recommending people leave their homes. Several state roads and streets in the city of La Rue are blocked until waters recede.
