FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The man arrested for beating his girlfriend to death with a baseball bat last April has pleaded guilty.

Anthony Ochs, 39, was arrested after he called 911 to say he had just beaten his girlfriend, Susan Lombardi, 42, in the head with a baseball bat. He told police that they had been drinking and he couldn't remember why he had gotten so angry.

Tuesday in Allen County Superior Court, Ochs pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. This carries a sentencing cap of 50 years.

The day of the incident, paramedics found Lombardi unresponsive and unconscious and rushed her to the hospital. Lombardi died a couple of days after being attacked.
