LEESBURG, Ind. (21Alive) - A North Webster man was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital for injuries he sustained in a crash Friday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department says Randall Shepard, 27, of Warsaw, was driving westbound on Armstrong Road near CR200E when he noticed another vehicle suddenly stopped ahead of him.

Shepard tells police he attempted to avoid the vehicle, crossed the center line and hit an oncoming pick-up truck driven by Gregory Smith, 77, of North Webster.

Smith was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital with head injuries. He is listed in serious condition.

Shepherd refused medical treatment at the scene.
