New Report Ranks Indiana No. 1 For School Voucher Programs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- Indiana has been ranked as the top state in a new report on school voucher programs around the country.

According to RTV6, The new report from the Center for Education Reform gave Indiana the top spot due to Indiana's voucher program being accessible and empowering to students and their parents.

Voucher programs give parents the ability to choose where their children attend school and have the state pay for it. Currently, 20,000 Indiana students are enrolled in the state's voucher programs.

The report looked at 14 other states and ranked them as follows:

Ohio: A
Wisconsin: A
Washington D.C.: B
North Carolina: B
Arizona: B
Louisiana: C
Florida: C
Georgia: C
Oklahoma: C
Colorado: C
Utah: C
Mississippi: C
Vermont: D
Maine: D
