FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – The Indiana Charter School Board has received a letter of intent for a proposed new charter school in Fort Wayne.

The Journal Gazette reports that according to the letter, the "Momentum Charter Academy" would be in the Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) district, although no specific site has been mentioned.

The school would open in the Fall of 2014, starting with close to 500 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. The report says if things go well, the school's second year could reach up to 750 students in kindergarten through 8th grades.

A final decision will be made in mid-October.
