FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Family and friends held a memorial service for Diane Woods, the elderly woman who was killed in her home last week.

Diane Woods, 78, was found dead in her home in the valley hills mobile home park... And the Allen County Coroner ruled her death a homicide.

On Saturday, family and friends gathered at her home to remember the life of Woods. The neighborhood sang hymns and reflected on her life.

For the community, friends and family, this is the first step in the healing process.

“This is just a small part of the healing because we're going on from here with her in our heart,” said July Overholt, a friend of Woods’.

Overholt says that she and the community will feel better once her killer has been caught.
