Mysterious Big Cat Spotted In Paulding County, Ohio

PAULDING, Ohio (21Alive) - The Paulding County, Ohio, Sheriff's Department is investigating reports of a large cat on the loose in Brown Township.

"The animal was described as 40-50 pounds, approximately knee high, a long body and the color of a bale of straw," Sheriff Jason Landers, D-Paulding County, Ohio, said in a statement. "The description could be that of a bobcat or mountain lion."

Landers adds there have been no reports of livestock being killed or property damage, but the sheriff is asking residents to be cautious.

"Residents might pay attention while outside, especially when small children are playing outdoors."
