FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – The Red Cross says the fire at Baldwin Creek Apartments is just one of four apartment fires in the area in the past three weeks, leaving many families without homes and furnishings this Holiday season.

The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank, in partnership with the Red Cross, reports at least 20 families are in need of furniture, bedding and kitchen supplies, but there isn't enough to go around.

“We need to be prepared for those families so that they can continue their lives and be prepared for the Holidays and enjoy it in a new home free of any remnants of the fire,” said Mustard Seed Executive Director Suzie Jordan.

Jordan says they need donations of the following items:
pots and pans,
crock pots
bake ware
cooking utensils
kitchen towels and dish cloths
blankets – twin, full, queen and king sized

Jordan says the items can be new or gently-used, but all must be clean and free of rips, tears, animal hair, cigarette burns, and are in working order. The Mustard Seed also accepts monetary and gift card donations.

All donations can be dropped off at the Mustard Seed, 3636 Illinois Road, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Thursday (Nov. 29) ONLY!

The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank in a non-for-profit organization that provides household furnishings to anyone suffering from a disaster, personal tragedy, or catastrophic misfortune.
