FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – It's move-in day for students at Indiana Tech.
Many began moving-in as early as Friday, but Indiana Tech tradition is students move-in on the Sunday before classes start.
Volunteers were on hand—Sunday only—to help students move furniture, suitcases and any other college necessities.
Students and their families will continue shuffling in throughout the remainder of the day. But, organizers at the school say that there's a method to their move-in day.
“We try to keep it as much of an organized chaos as we can. Students typically start showing up whenever they want to anyway. We did have some students arrive two weeks ago to come in for pre-season training for some of the athletic games but by 3 o'clock we were over half way moved in already,” said Chris Dickson, Associate Vice President of Student Services at Indiana Tech.
Dickson says enrollment is up and housing is over capacity, but he's looking forward to the new school year.
