FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) --- The finishing touches are being placed on the 43 luxury apartments that are a centerpiece of a major downtown complex called "The Harrison".
Next Thursday and Friday, tenants will actually begin hauling in furniture, clothes and other stuff to call the apartments home.
But there is still a lot of work to be done to get them all occupied.
The units up for rent range in price from about $900.00 a month, all the way up to $2,150.00 a month.
They are painted and carpeted with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in place.
The highest priced unit, dubbed "The Madison", features larger square footage, and views of both Parkview Field and downtown Fort Wayne to the north.
In the master bath, there's a Jacuzzi.
In total, 22 units out of 43 are leased.
All that have been rented face the baseball field.
" You do pay more for to have the ball park in your backyard, but for those people as of yet, they wanted to pay that extra price, so they could have that. But the downtown side is incredible, and that's going to pick up steam here, I just know it," said Breck Geeting with the leasing company, BND Commercial Real Estate.
We did a story on the leasing process back in October, and at that time, 19 had signed agreements, meaning three more have been rented the past three months.
But Geeting says negotiations are ongoing with several prospective tenants.
She is hopeful that people moving in will generate momentum in getting folks to sign on the dotted line.
