Molesting Charges Potentially Dropped In Plea Agreement

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A man charged with several Class A child molestation felonies has pleaded guilty to one Class C child molestation felony and will face up to 8 years behind bars if the plea agreement is accepted by the judge.

Robert E. Fitzgerald, 41, was charged in 2011 for allegedly forcing a 9-year-old girl to watch pornographic materials.

Fitzgerald pleaded guilty to one Class C child molestation felony Monday If the judge accepts the plea agreement at his sentencing next month then three Class A felony counts will be dropped.

If Fitzgerald had be held to the original Class A felony child molestation counts along with the solicitation and dissemination of matter harmful to minors charges, and he was found guilty, he could have faced decades in prison.
