Media Exposure Leads To Arrests Of Alleged Muscular Dystrophy Donation Can Thieves (PHOTOS)

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The man and woman team who were caught on surveillance camera stealing a Muscular Dystrophy Donation can turned themselves in to police.

The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department's release says that the couple make arrangements to turn themselves in "because of media exposure".

Wednesday the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department posted the video of the duo taking the donation can off the counter at South Milford Landing while the clerk was away from the register. That post was shared over 400 times and 21Alive covered it in multiple broadcasts and on the web.

Following the circulation of the post the Sheriff's Department received tips from the public on the suspect's identities.

Garrison A Beitz, 27, and Monica S. Babin, 42, turned themselves in to police Thursday and have been arrested are are being held on preliminary charges of theft, a class D felony.
