FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Today was declared DaMarcus Beasley Day in the City of Fort Wayne by Mayor Tom Henry.

The proclamation was made this morning at the Mayor's office with Beasley in attendance to honor his accomplishments in professional soccer.

Beasley is the first American to appear in four World Cups and just the third person to make four World Cup rosters.

Later Friday, Beasley visited his National Soccer School at The Plex North.

Beasley signed autographs for and took photos with campers.

One boy won an autographed pair of cleats Beasley wore during the World Cup.
