FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Rescue crews search for missing person who jumped into the Maumee River.

According to scanner traffic, just after 2 a.m. this morning several units responded to an urgent assist call on a traffic stop at the Columbia Saint Joe split. Responding officers were sent down the road to the corner of Saint Joesph and Edgewater Boulevard after a report of a person jumping into the river and not coming up to the surface.

Just before 4 a.m. this morning, dive teams and rescue boats searched for the person, but called off the water search. It's not clear at this point if the water rescue and the earlier traffic stop were related incidents.
