FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An apparent domestic dispute flared into a potentially deadly situation.

A witness said a boyfriend and girlfriend were fighting when the man apparently jumped in front of a train on tracks in the 900 block of Herman Street near downtown Fort Wayne last night.

The man was struck and fell into the St. Mary's River. He was then rescued by emergency crews and hospitalized in serious to critical condition.

The man's name has not yet been released. Police spokespersons have not yet confirmed most of the details of what happened.
