FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 10 p.m. Friday in the area of Oxford and Hanna Streets.
According to police, a man was injured after he left a home on Hamilton Ave, discovered that his moped was missing and then confronted three black males, in their teens, who standing with his moped in an alley. The man told police that when he walked up to the three teens they began shooting. He said he fled the scene on his moped and was picked up by his father at a nearby Shell gas station and taken to the hospital.
The man's mother-in-law told police that he had left the house and then came back pounding on the door and that his hand was bleeding. He ran through the home and said to call 911, then left again.
Witnesses said they heard the gunshots and had seen several teen boys going through the alley. They told police the gunshot sounds came from Oxford near a barbershop. Police followed a trail of blood drops to an alley beside the barbershop on Oxford and located two empty shell casings.
