FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Fort Wayne police say a man walked into St. Joseph Hospital downtown early Tuesday morning with gunshot wounds.

Officers say the man, Christopher Bell, told them he was shot in the 4400 block of Spatz Avenue. Bell said he was picked up by a stranger and driven to the hospital. The hospital confirmed that he had been dropped off by a dark colored SUV which then immediately left.

According to police, Bell is suffering from wounds to both of his thighs.

Investigators say they went to the scene and found a car riddled with bullet holes in an alley and shell casings on the ground.

Police dispatchers last reported him in serious condition.

Police have not made any arrests.
