Man Injured in Single Car Crash (VIDEO)

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Indiana State Police investigated a single vehicle crash at approximately 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning on I-69 in Steuben County.

Nathan Lee West, 25, of Angola was driving his Jeep northbound on I-69 at the 341 mile marker. The vehicle traveled off of the east side of the roadway and down into a culvert where it struck a sign before hitting a concrete wall, according to Indiana State Police.

West suffered a broken right leg as well a head injury, and is believed to have fallen asleep behind the wheel. He was not wearing a seat belt. Investigators believe that alcohol is also a factor.

West was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. His condition is not known at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
