Man Injured In Grenade Launcher Accident

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) – A man is hospitalized after firing off a grenade launcher.

Indiana conservation officers say Kevin Patterson, 41, of Walkerton, Ind., injured his arm after attempting to fire a starburst grenade launcher from an AR-15 platform rifle.

Officers say the grenade detonated in the launch tube under the rifle barrel causing the injuries.

The incident occurred in a private shooting range in Marshall County.

Patterson was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
