Major Water Main Break In Decatur

January 7, 2014 Updated Jan 7, 2014 at 1:24 PM EDT

DECATUR, Ind. (21Alive) -- The City of Decatur experienced a major water main break late Monday evening.

Water supplies are currently limited so officials are asking residents of Decatur to conserve water usage as much as possible for the next several days. Repairs are underway although many homes and businesses have lost all water pressure. By 10 pm this evening Decatur will have low water pressure that will allow residents to bathe and flush toilets.

They have also put out a boil advisory alert for all water use in the City of Decatur until further notice and are currently working on getting bottled water for the citizens of Decatur.
