Major Marijuana Grow Operation Discovered in Dekalb County (Photos)

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- Dekalb County Sheriff's deputies say they discovered an apparent marijuana grow operation late Monday night.

Authorities were called to the 5100 Block of County Road 39 in reference to a suspect of a domestic battery that had occured in Allen County.

When they arrived on scene, they say they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from another building on the property. A Dekalb County K-9 officer executed a search warrant for the buidling, and discovered 100 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $100,000.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and charges for the suspect are pending.

The Dekalb County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police and the Auburn Police Department.
