Lutheran Under Investigation For Billing System

April 28, 2011 Updated Apr 28, 2011 at 9:51 AM EST

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The government is looking into claims of improper activity at Lutheran Hospital and its parent company.

This stems from a federal lawsuit that was filed by a former employee against Lutheran and Community Health Systems.

The woman claimed Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies were over-billed through incorrect patient stay dates.

She also said she warned Lutheran managers of the errors, but nothing was changed.

Officials at Community Health Systems have not returned calls for comment.
