Accident Shuts Down NB I-69 in Grant County

An accident on I-69 near mile marker 255 in Grant County shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate Saturday evening.

Initial reports indicate that a semi was heading south on the interstate when the driver crossed over into oncoming traffic. The semi tipped over and rolled on top of an SUV, almost embedding the car into the trailer of the semi.

Victim Identified: Man Shot Dead Outside American Legion

The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a fatal shooting early Sunday morning.

According to officials, the shooting happened in the area of E. Lewis St. and S. Hanna St. When officers arrived, they found Jabron Totton, 37, lying in the parking lot of the American Legion, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The wounded victim was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police Barricade Alleged Armed Subject
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 600 block of W. State Boulevard on a report of an armed disturbance late Saturday night.
Preliminary information indicated the armed suspect, an adult male, was making threats to harm others while armed with a knife.

IPFW Students Develop New Technology for Speed Skaters

Speed skaters are now able to get a more accurate reading of their lap times through a student invention.
The IPFW Senior Computer Engineering class teamed up with local speed skaters and built a radio frequency identification timing system.
