There was trouble on the St. Joseph River Thursday afternoon after a construction barge broke loose.
The barge is part of the construction project on the Johnny Appleseed Bridge and was full of debris.
After breaking loose, it floated down the river and slammed into the dam.
According to city officials, there appeared to be no damage to the structure. It is one of the main sources of the city's drinking water and it feeds the city's filtration plant.
City emergency crews tried to get a hold of the construction company, but no one answered due to the holiday.
