FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – A local woman is doing her part to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Carrie Grubbs of Fort Wayne has been collecting blankets and clothing since Nov. 12, but her goal is to fill an entire U-Haul truck full of items.

On Monday, she will head to the east coast and personally deliver the items. Grubbs says she remembers and appreciates the support Fort Wayne received from other states during the big storms this summer.

“I spoke to some of the electric company employees who traveled here from Oklahoma, and just went out and showed gratitude to them for coming and supporting us,” she said.

Grubbs will be accepting donations Sunday at the Boy's and Girl's Club from 12 – 4 p.m. and then at Ravenscroft Beauty College from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
