FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A Fort Wayne woman has volunteered her efforts through the Red Cross to help those impacted by the Washington Wildfires.

Julie Bauer left earlier this week to provide mental health counseling for families dealing with emotional stress from the devastating disaster. Julie is expected to be away for two weeks and has already deployed more than 20 times through the Red Cross.

"Really we're always looking for volunteers so that's a great way to help if you have the time or the expertise to be deployed on these missions" says Vince Robinson of Fort Wayne Red Cross. "Also another way is to help with donations, by contacting redcross.org, going to the website, just giving money to help with disasters like this one and others"

The red cross is always in need of blood donations.
