Local Community Donated Over $8K For Oklahoma Tornado Relief Efforts

NORTHEAST INDIANA (21Alive) -- The Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City would like to thank the community of Northeast Indiana for their donations following the May 20th tornado.

Within 24 hours after the May 20th Oklahoma City tornado, monetary and food donations were being accepted at Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc.

Within five days 21,080 pounds of food was collected and within a month total monetary donations received were $8,515.58. All donations were sent to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Rodney Bivens, Executive Director at the Regional Food Bank, has written a thank you letter to Community Harvest Food Bank and to the local community expressing gratitude for their support.
