FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Naked Tchopstix has been allowed to reopen by the Allen County Health Department after being closed Wednesday.

The closure on Wednesday was the result of cockroaches being found within the restaurant. On Tuesday, an Allen County Health Department inspector viewed cockroaches in the Sushi Bar area, including one being on a prep cooler.

The closure is the eighth restaurant to be closed by the Allen County Health Department this year.

Original Report:

The Department of Health shut down Naked Tchopstix Wednesday after cockroaches were found during an inspection on Tuesday.

According to the food inspection report, two live cockroaches were observed in the sushi bar, one was on the prep cooler base and one was seen in the crack above shelving in a wood wall. The inspector saw dead cockroaches near a single door chest freezer.

There is a long list of items that must be repaired before the restaurant can be re-inspected and then re-opened.
