FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Students at Lindley Elementary School had a hands-on look at their potential futures as businessmen and women.
Lindley held Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana's JA in A Day, which teaches children what it's like to teach children about entrepreneurship.
"It's just a great opportunity for our students to be exposed to business ideas through community members. Having that one day focus for the students and the volunteers works out great," Lindley principal Mary Kinniry says.
Employees of Lincoln Financial Group volunteered at the school, helping the eager kindergarten through fifth-grade students.
"Our goal at JA is that this will be embedded in them by the time they're graduating from high school," Hayli Dick, Junior Achievement program manager, says. "So that they can go and own their own economic success and their future; and give back to the community."
JA In A Day is a part of 39 schools in Northeast Indiana. The program is in its eighth year.
