MIDDLEBURY, Ind. (21Alive) -- Sheriff's Deputies from LaGrange County had to deploy stop sticks during a pursuit near the LaGrange/Elkhart County line.
Deputies were dispatched to assist the Middlebury police in the pursuit of a grey passenger car late last night and into the early morning hours. The vehicle evaded stop sticks at the intersection of US 20 and SR 5, then continued on SR 5 into Noble County. Stop sticks were deployed again and the vehicle struck two of them, then rammed into a Noble County Deputy's Vehicle.
The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle stopped near 10125 W and 1000 N. According to police, the suspect resisted arrest and a tazer was used to subdue him.
Police identified the suspect as Jonathan Gaby, 31, of Middlebury. He face preliminary charges of resisting arrest and criminal recklessness.
