Indianapolis Man Dies In Tennessee Fire, 5-Year-Old Nephew Missing

SEVIERVILLE, TN (21Alive) -- An Indianapolis family vacationing in Tennessee has been befallen by tragedy after a fire engulfed their cabin, according to WTHR.

The cabin was housing more than 20 people when it went up in flames early Saturday morning. One man died during the incident, he was described as the family patriarch. He died from cutting an artery when he broke open a cabin window to help get others out.

The family had just arrived the day before on a vacation organized by the victim and his wife. People who know the family say he was a selfless individual who deeply cared for others.

A 5-year-old boy, the victim's great nephew, has not been accounted for.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
