INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) -- Indiana has ranked among one of the saddest states in the nation according to two studies, one being a Gallup poll and the other a survey of Tweets.

According to the Gallup poll, Indiana qualifies as a sad state because its residents are depressed, obese and hate their jobs ranking the state 42 out of the 50. The poll took life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors and basic access into consideration when evaluating residents.

Also, researchers recently used tweets to determine the happiness or sadness of states. Indiana ranked as one of the sadder states in that study as well. Researchers used key words such as good, nice, LOL, haha, rainbow, or boo, mad, hate, no, jail, earthquake, and a long line of expletives to determine the happy or sad rating.

In both studies, Hawaii ranked as the happiest place in the U.S.
