Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Two area classrooms are celebrating Wednesday as part of the "Classroom Constitution Day" contest.
Supreme Court Justice Steven David was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court in 2010 by Governor Mitch Daniels.
Justice David talked with students about his job, why he became a lawyer and his experience defending suspected terrorists on trial at Guantanamo Bay.
He hopes to spark some interest in the law and give them the courage to pursue whatever careers they're passionate about.
Justice David says, “They can be whatever they want to be. We talked about "work hard, do good, be proud and have fun". My eight words to try to live by. And be themselves. And they can be they want to be. To encourage them, to give them the enthusiasm and energy to go forward.”
Wayne new Tech Academy and Northcrest Elementary were selected out of hundreds of written requests.
