HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Huntington's library is at the center of a debate that could change the way budgets are approved for libraries across the state.
County Council members say the Huntington Library has been stashing away about half a million dollars a year without any construction plans and even though council members review the library's budget they have no authority to mandate cuts or freezes in budget expenses.
Now Huntington Representative Dan Leonard is proposing a bill to the Indiana Legislature to give councils the right to change and approve library budgets.
