HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (21Alive) -- A new wastewater treatment facility has been approved for construction in Huntertown by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
The Huntertown Council and Utility Service Board announced they received the permit Thursday afternoon. The new facility is an attempt to disconnect from their current provider and implement long term planning goals. Officials also say the new facility will give better protection to rate payers.
Derek Frederickson, Project Engineer for the facility, says, “This wastewater treatment plant will produce one of the highest quality discharges in the State of Indiana while implementing readily available and proven wastewater technologies.”
