HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (21Alive) – Huntertown wants to annex 530 acres of land that could affect resident property taxes.

The Huntertown Town Council is looking to add 511 homes in the Twin Eagles subdivision. The council president says water and sewer services are already provided to those areas, and annexing is part of their comprehensive plan.

Residents who reached their property tax cap will not be affected, but those annexed could see it go up, which could wreak havoc on Northwest Allen County Schools (NACS).
