Homeowner Suffers Minor Injuries & 2 Cats Perish In House Fire (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The homeowner was able to get out, but two cats perished in a house fire on Fort Wayne's southeast side early Wednesday.

It sparked just after 1 a.m. Firefighters were called to the 20,000 block of McKinnie Ave. They brought the blaze under control in less than 20 minutes.

Investigators say they found the homeowner outside with minor injuries but that two cats died in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
