FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Charges have been re-filed against 36-year-old Andrew Walter.

He now faces six separate charges including operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, and failure to stop after an accident resulting in serious bodily injury.

The incident started when police say Walter's truck struck Black who was riding a bike on West Jefferson Boulevard near Aboite Center Road.

A passerby then found Black around 2:45 Friday morning and called police.

Black was hospitalized in critical condition.

A short time later, officials say Walter called police saying he thought he hit someone.

Investigators went to his home to check out the SUV and found the damage was consistent with the damage to the bike.

Walter had been preliminarily charged with an OWI causing serious bodily injury.

Police say Black had also been drinking and was not wearing a helmet.

Black remains hospitalized.
