FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Bishop Dwenger student killed when an intoxicated man speeding away from an alleged shooting slammed into her vehicle, will be remembered on Saturday.

Haley Nellum was merely 17 when police say Jeremy Washington slammed into her vehicle going over 80 mph around midnight of March 29th. Nellum only had her license for 8 days and was on her way home from a friends house when the incident occurred.

This Saturday, friends of Haley Nellum are set to remember her. First, Haley's No. 21 Bishop Dwenger basketball jersey will be retired at the Bishop Dwenger basketball court. Also, the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions will hold a memorial 2.1 mile walk/run to raise funds to set up scholarship in Haley's honor.

The school's track will be open from 9:00 a.m. to noon for walking and running. Donations will be accepted at that time.
