FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The first of many houses has been built in Fuller's Landing.
Community members held a housewarming and backyard barbeque Thursday. The event featured a live band and a series of auctions.
Habitat officials say all the proceeds raised at the event will go toward building more homes in the neighborhood. They plan to build 120 homes over a seven year time span.
“They're going to offer some amenities that we haven't done before,” Justin Berger CEO, Habitat for Humanity said. “It's going to be a front porch community, so every family will have a front porch and a two-car garage, something that's really going to fit in well with the area out here and really be a great asset to the community.”
All of the homes in Fuller's Landing will be one or two stories with at least three bedrooms.
