INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A major job announcement in Carmel, Indiana Monday morning as Geico plans to hire hundreds of people for a service center.

Billionaire investor and businessman, Warren Buffet, was on hand for Monday's ribbon cutting ceremony. Geico is a leading insurer in the United States and plans to hire more than a thousand people for a customer service center in Carmel.

Geico is among several businesses owned by billionaire investor Warren Buffet.

The current office opened last spring and has about 250 workers thus far. Buffet says Indiana was chosen because his companies have had a good track record in the state.

The center could employ up to 1,200 workers in the next few years.
