FORT WAYNE, In. (ww.incnow.tv) --- Silverado trucks made at GM's Fort Wayne assembly plant have played a big part in leading the automaker's February sales.

Sales of the Silverado were up 29% as 42,000 Silverado trucks were sold in February. The truck is assembled in southwest Allen County at the sprawling assembly plant where several thousand are employed.

And a number of area companies supply parts to the assembly plant.

Overall, GM's February sales were up 7%. Ford sales were up 9% and Chrysler posted a 4% gain.
