DETROIT, Mich. (www.incnow.tv) - Officials with General Motors are recalling hundreds of thousands of SUVs because of a corrosion problem that could lead to the vehicle catching fire.
The recall affects model years 2006 and 2007, which is approximately 194,000 vehicles. These models include the Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 97x and the Isuzu Ascender.
GM officials say water can get in the driver's door, cause corrosion and short out a circuit board
If the electric module is affected, it could cause power lock and power window switches to stop working. A fire could spark at any moment due to it being electrical. For this reason, it is advised that these vehicles are kept outside rather than in a garage.
Owners will be contacted, their vehicles tested and fixed free of charge under the “special coverage” program.
