GM Cuts Jobs at Defiance Engine Plant

DEFIANCE, Oh (21Alive) --- General Motors has told 135 of its workers at their Defiance, Ohio power train plant that they'll be out of work by the end of next month.

The automaker says a shift toward more fuel efficient motors made at its other plants is the reason behind the layoffs. The Definance plant makes cast iron engine parts.
