FORT WAYNE, Ind (www.incnow.tv) -- in Fort Wayne for a board meeting, the chairman and CEO of Frontier Communications is praising Indiana as a place to do business.

Earlier this month, Frontier announced it would move its central region headquarters to Fort Wayne from Minnesota.

That move boosted local employment to more than 1,100 jobs, and appears to secure them for the future.

Frontier's CEO says Indiana’s business climate continues to impress her, and says she appreciates that Governor Pence and the legislature take care to balance the state's budget.

“It is a right to work state, we also have union employees in the state. But we also think that having an environment where the government takes responsibility to balance a budget, takes responsibility to make it business friendly so businesses can grow and prosper in the state is extremely important for a company like Frontier,” says Maggie Wilderotter, Frontier’s Chairman and CEO.

She also touts the fact that the broadband and telecommunications company is committed to being local.

“It's 24-7 local support. That's what we provide we're a 100% U.S.-based workforce, so when our customers call us for service, they get someone here in the United States,” Widerotter says.

Fort Wayne is Frontier's second-largest market in the country.
