FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Hundreds participate in the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics of Allen County.
Could you imagine jumping into a pool of freezing water in the middle of winter? That's what hundreds of people did Saturday afternoon. It was all part of the Sixth Annual Polar Plunge at Parkview Field, hosted by the Special Olympics of Allen County.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department filled a bin with eight feet of ice cold water. Those who were brave enough climbed the platform and jumped right in. Money raised will help buy uniforms and equipment for the Special Olympics team, and will pay for facility rentals to participate in the state summer games this June.
