FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It's great news for people looking to visit an iconic Summit City spot, who might not carry cash.

For the first time in their 100-year history, Fort Wayne's Famous coney Island is now accepting debit and credit cards. The restaurant previously only accepted cash and checks

The announcement appeared on their Facebook page Thursday. They wrote:

Do you remember when Bob Dylan went electric? How about when Indiana high school basketball changed to a Class system? 8 tracks eventually made way for iPods. Well, for the first time in 100 years The Coney Island Wiener Stand is now accepting debit/credit cards.

Fans of the page flooded the comment area with responses of mostly excitement, but also disappointment.
