FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - It's an annual event that brings families together in Fort Wayne. But this year, there's some added heated discussion.

The Fort Wayne Farm Show is is the fifth largest farm show in the country and organizers say the event is bigger and better than ever.

The machines certainly live up to that. The free event, at Memorial Coliseum, features the latest and greatest machinery, technology, and exhibits.

With over 900 vendors, it's family fun for all ages. Dealers say they love letting kids climb on countless tractors, plows, and combines.

But farmers are doing more than just checking out the heavy machinery. They're using this venue as an open forum to talk about pressing topics, like the controversial Farm Bill.

They all agreed that farmers aren't the only ones who should be concerned about this bill continually being placed on the back burner.

"It's not just for farmers. It's going to affect the average homeowner that buys a gallon of milk," said one local crop and dairy farmer.

Lawmakers responsible for crafting a final bill hope to have it ready for floor debate by February.

As for the Farm Show, that comes to an end much sooner. The even ends at 4p.m. on Thursday, January 16th.

The facility charges $5 for parking.
