FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) -- Indiana State Senator Tom Wyss will have his career honored today in Fort Wayne.
Mayor Tom Henry is set to proclaim today as "Tom Wyss Day" at Citizens Square at 4:00 this afternoon. Last year, Senator Wyss announced that he would not seek reelection after nearly 30 years in office.
Wyss is most recently known for his efforts to keep Hoosiers safe on the roads by coauthoring legislation to prohibit texting while driving.
