Five Injured After Car Hits Tree (VIDEO)

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- Five people are injured after a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

According to the Noble County Sherriff's Department, the accident occurred on 750 W just north of 500 N in Ligonier at 2:45 a.m.

The vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree head on. Police say the driver was pinned in the vehicle and suffered possible neck and back injuries.

Three of the other four injured passengers were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center with abdominal pain and a head laceration. The driver was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, and it is unknown at this time if drugs and alcohol were contributing factors.
